Technical Conference on the
Federal Building and Fire Safety Investigation of the
World Trade Center (WTC) Disaster
September 13-15, 2005

Present the details of the technical work that NIST carried out in developing its findings and recommendations (click here for a PDF version of the draft report)
Provide a forum for the technical community outside of the investigation team to present their ideas and analyses, with an emphasis on spurring action on the recommendations

Sessions are planned on
(1) Occupant Egress and Emergency Response
(2) Reconstruction of the Thermal Environment
(3) Mechanical and Metallurgical Analysis
(4) Baseline Structural Performance and Aircraft Damage Analysis
(5) Structural Fire Response and Collapse Analysis
(6) Analysis of Active Fire Protection Systems, and Building & Fire Codes and PracticesRegistration
The conference is open to the general public. A registration fee of $110 is required to offset the expenses of the conference, including lunches on September 14 and 15.PRE-REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. You may register and pay on-site, HOWEVER, Due to space limitations and security considerations, attendees are REQUIRED to, in ADVANCE of arrival, submit their name, affiliation, and US citizenship status. If you are not a US citizen, you must also include your country of citizenship, title, employer, and address. You may email that information to wduffin@nist.gov, or you may print out a visitor information form and fax it to 301-975-4052.
